Police Chief

Marengo,  Iowa

The City of Marengo is looking for a is a highly effective leader and law enforcement professional, to direct the administration and operations of the Police Department and carry out the mission and vision for the City; as well as supervise, coordinate, lead, teach, schedule activities, conduct criminal investigations, enforce laws and ordinances, communicate internally and externally and be a patrolling officer. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have graduated from high school or equivalent.
  • Must have at least five (5) years’ experience as a Police Officer.
  • Must have Iowa Law Enforcement Academy Certification.
  • Must not have a criminal record.
  • Must reside in the city limits of Marengo within 12 months of hire.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • AA or BA degree in related field.
  • 3-5 years' law enforcement supervisory experience.

Police Department Reserve Officer

The City of Marengo occasionally looks for individuals interested in law enforcement to serve as Reserve Officers.
