Keep Iowa Beautiful Month Proclamation

April 6, 2017

Marengo's Mayor Mark Swift signed an official proclamation on April 6, 2017. The proclamation was brought before Mayor Swift by the Iowa Valley FFA Chapter. The FFA participates in the Adopt-a-Highway Program where members cleanup the area along Highway 6 from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses to the Marengo Cemetery twice each year, in the Spring and Fall. Mayor Swift noted the proclamation and efforts by the FFA Chapter are in line with projects the City has taken on such as the nuisance abatement program.

The proclamation states:
Now, therefore I, Mark Swift, Mayor of the City of Marengo, encourage our citizens to undertake personal and organizational efforts that will enhance the cleanliness, health and beauty in our community and state. I do hereby proclaim April 2017 Keep Iowa Beautiful Month.
